A delegation of pastoralists from East Africa, West Africa, Arctic, South America and Europe walked with a flock of 300 sheep by the Alternative Summit and hold a press conference at COP25.

This Thursday 12 of December , after arriving to Madrid with a flock of 300 endangered sheep of the race Rubia del Molar, who have been transhumando on foot with their shepherds from the Sierra Norte Coop. Apisquillos, part of the action Flocks for the Climate, , which has the support of Friends of the Earth (promoters of the campaign “Less Meat, and Higher Quality Meat”), Ecologists in Action and the Observatory Sierra de Guadarrama, representatives of communities of shepherds, pastoralists and nomads from various parts of the world part of the organization WAMIP will gather and read their statement at this important time of defining and implementing policies to combat the climate crisis, in a context in which pastoralists are often being targeted, relating them with the high environmental cost of industrial livestock systems Grazing and extensive livestock farming, which improves soil fertility, maintains pastures as CO2 sinks, prevents fires, produces quality food, fixes population in villages and local economies, is part of the solution.
