WORLD ALLIANCE OF MOBILE INDIGENOUS PEOPLES & PASTORALISTS
At the CFS, we co-organised the event "Rooted & Mobile: Pastoral Systems Leading the Way to Resilience", where we highlighted pastoralists' rights, knowledge and contributions to sustainability. While CFS 54 recognised pastoralists' role in family farming and resilient food systems, recognition must translate into action. We demand concrete policies, adequate investment, secure collective land rights and meaningful participation in decision-making.Defending pastoralists's rights is essential to food sovereignty. This also means challenging exclusion and defending Indigenous Peoples' pastoralists' knowledge, rights and leadership, including that of women. Our participation in the CFS is essential to hold decision-makers accountable and ensure that pastoralists have a real say in deciding the policies that affect our lives and futures.Thank you to everyone who joined us and contributed to this important conversation!
