Today, we attended the first day of the Global Pastoralists Gathering in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia.
We’re here as a global grassroots pastoralist movement to make sure our voices and realities are heard. However, the lack of meaningful representation of pastoralists in this space concerns us.
Throughout the day, we presented our red lines and made clear the demands we want to see reflected in the final declarations. We will continue pushing to have them included, but it won’t be easy.
This must be a space led by pastoralists, for pastoralists. We are here to engage, negotiate and organize, while defending the priorities of pastoralist communities.
We will keep fighting for our rights, let’s see what tomorrow brings ✊
